Steel switchgear enclosures, transformer housings and electrical houses (eHouses) for distribution and substation equipment, designed to withstand the service environment. This covers packaged substation enclosures, kiosks and containerised substations. Cable entry, ventilation, lifting and maintenance access are all engineered around the equipment supplier's drawing pack.
Coating systems are matched to the assessed exposure and required durability range, and weather-protection and IP requirements are agreed to the specification. Inspection and NDT are carried out to the requirement of the project.

Common questions
Do you build eHouses and packaged substation enclosures?
Yes. Garendon can supply switchgear enclosures, transformer housings, electrical houses (eHouses), substation kiosks and containerised substations, engineered around the equipment and site brief for access, ventilation, lifting and structural loads.
Which steel grade do you use?
We specify the grade — typically S235, S275 or S355 — to the structural duty rather than over-specifying. Where a higher grade does not pay back, we say so.
Are the enclosures designed for outdoor substation use?
Yes. The coating is selected from the site's assessed corrosivity category, required ISO 12944 durability range and maintenance plan, with weather protection, sealing and serviceable access designed to the agreed brief.
